WHAT YUM SAYS:
Yum Foam is a pH balanced luxury pre-wash that emulsifies dirt and grime enabling it to be gently lifted off the surface.
Yum Foam is engineered to create a super thick active foam – It is tough on dirt, grime, and environmental contaminants yet gentle on all paint as well as all waxed and sealed surfaces. The pH-neutral formula lifts dirt and grime away from paint where it can be safely rinsed away.
Yum Foam formulation cleans surfaces delivering a bright spot-free shine. Yum Foam is developed to be safe on all vehicle surfaces including paint, rubber, vinyl, glass, plastics and gel coats.
The unique formulation of Yum Foam is also engineered with water softeners designed to reduce hard water spots caused by calcium.
Despite Yum Foam’s high cleaning abilities, the solution is wax and sealant friendly, meaning it will not remove or breakdown any protection you have previously applied to your vehicles paintwork.
A very thick gel before being mixed with water. The smell is more of a chemically type of smell than anything else, but that isn’t a bad thing.
Yum’s instructions advises 1-2 inches of Foam and mixed with water. Assuming this guidance is for a 1L lance bottle, that works out roughly a 1/8 ratio which is on par with typical foams and recommendations.
Yum instruct that the car is rinsed prior to use to allow the bigger and easier of bits of dirt to be knocked off the car first. Once applied, allow to sit for approx. 5mins before rinsing to allow thicker and stickier dirt to loosen and be easily rinsed off. Once rinsed, it’s then time to move on to using a two bucket method to wash the car.
It’s thick! Not as thick as I expected however foam lances are all different. On this day we went with a bog standard Karcher lance due to my other lance being out of action and needing a service. However, this doesn’t mean the performance of this product was any less impressive. It certainly did the trick with the foam sticking around on the car for some time, hinting towards this being a good quality foam.
Rinse was a doddle and it’s easy to say that the ratio was spot on. Once removed, most of the dirt was absent from the car allowing for an easy two bucket clean.
So, would I buy some more? Yes, in fact I will be buying some more next time I need to re-stock. That’s a little way off but I intend to go for this one next!
Funny enough, just to add, after I was finished a friend used some on his other car and ended up dropping me a text to say it really did the trick on a car well overdue a wash.
